Hi All,

I have few questions on having allergies as preexisting condition.

1). How does an insurance company know about a patient's preexisting condition?

2). I visited an Ophthalmologist 2 months back and he said I have allergies. Right now I am on United health care insurance but I am planning to get enrolled for BCBSTX (They seem to have good coverage for people with allergies). If I have allergy tests or allergy shots, will BCBS cover it or say it

Since you have individual coverage not group I believe you will have a waiting period on anything to do with allergies. The sales rep should be able to tell you how long that is. And when you sign up for individual policies they normally ask you for a list of doctors, etc you've seen in the past year or so.
