Predict the worst movies of 2005!

It's always best not to judge something before you even try it, isn't that what they all say? But when it comes down to Hollywood and movies in general.......you can predict the crap a mile off before you even see it........thats showbusiness for ya!

Here's my choice of what i KNOW will be crap this year=

Son of the Mask (Sequel to the Mask): Do i even need to explain why this is going to be crap when a trailer like this comes out:- http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/sonofthemask/

Miss Congeniality 2: The first one was a dud, and so would this one be. But what the hell, Sandra Bullock will make a mint out of producing and starring in this one:- http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/miss_congeniality_2/

Chicken Little: Disney's second fully CG animated film since Dinosours......remember that one? No?....I thought so ;) . From looking at the trailer and seeing the animation i'm pretty sure Pixar and Dreamworks haven't got anything to worry about because it simply looks crap.....Though not as worse looking as Shark Tale (shudders). Why oh why have Disney closedown its traditional hand-drawn animation department only to bring out cash-cows such as this cack:- http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney/chicken_little/

The Pink Panther: It looks like Steve Martin is stuck for cash again and Beyonce is still trying to prove she can.....act  :- http://www.apple.com/trailers/mgm/the_pink_panther/

Bewitched: As much as i love Will Ferrell, i can't help but feel that this will be another "Stepford wives", maybe this is because it stars Nichole Kidman. Oh why can't she just stick with her over emotional roles that occasionaly wins her the odd award? Hasn't Batman Forever taught her anything? http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/bewitched/

XXX: State of the Union: Soon as you read the name you know its rubbish:- http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/xxx-stateoftheunion/

Fantastic Four: Now i have read parts of the script online and read numerous set reports and seen the hideous costumes, and i have come to the conclusion that this film will fall into many cliches and will be too "cutesy and sentimental". The reason for this conclusion is http://www.rottentomatoes.com/news/comments/?entryid=142308.....I mean hello? If warning bells aren't ringing in your head then you must be a fan of Supergirl!

Elektra: It's a spin-off, what more can i possibly say to explain why it will be crap? http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/elektra/

Shall We Dance?: It stars Jennifer "I can't keep a man" Lopez  .

Herbie: Fully Loaded: Even the name scares me.

Now here are the films that might bomb, but might not if you catch me drift?

Legend Of Zorro: A sequel that for me feels like 7 years too late!

War Of The WorlRAB: Yes i know it's directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Tom Cruise.......But like sooooo whaaaat! Spielberg made the rather rubbish Terminal last year. I just have a sneaky feeling that this film will be another "Oh look America has saved the world from Aliens again" . I don't know i think i might reserve judgement on this until i see it.

King Kong: Now this might sound like since i am a huge Lord of the rings fan and i just love Peter Jackson (but again soooooooo whaaaaaaaaaaat?), but doing an excellent remake of a film that basically invented and made the Blockbusters we know today and made Hollywood is a really hard thing to do (just look at the dismal 1970 remake of the film).

But i heard Peter Jackson has used the same formula he used on the LOTR movie scripts and that is to basically stay true to the source but put a slight realistic touch and MORE EMOTIONs in scenes so that you believe what's happening. And if this is what he is doing then this remake might just top-ish the original....which for me had major faults. Plus Peter is sticking to the 1030's era, that is good, so maybe this one won't bomb then? http://www.kongisking.net/index.shtml

Anyways there are just some of my worries of this year.....What's yours?

Think this is one i'll pass on. The 'starring Tom Cruise' is enough to put me off ;)

My main worry is that Episode 3 (yes that one) might turn out to be as bad as it 2 predecessors. I hope it won't.

That's alot of terrible looking films.

But the scariest has got to be the Pink Panther. What human anywhere would think that that is a good idea? The rest will discretely flop, hopefully, but Jeez.

But I won't pass judgement on King Kong or War of the WorlRAB yet. Even though I've never seen the Lord of the Rngs of ever been able to like Tom Cruise.

Is it just me or are quite are few films from 8+ years ago suddenly getting sequels?

I've recently read that Mrs Doubtfire, Jumanji and Mighty Ducks are doing so, although i'm not sure if its certain for all of them.

Perhaps with the exception of Mighty Ducks 12 (or whatever number they got up to), I didn't think that the originals of any of these films were too bad. Is it really necessarily for Hollywood to try and cash in?

In comparison to daredevil the advert for Elecktra (sp?) seems to very ...erm fantasy? People are going to get a shock when they go to see that one. She was fighting a man with medusa's head coming out of his stomach or something.

I have my doubts about Assault on Precinct 13. They are 'expanding' the original concept, so it's notthe same film, but......

I had similar missgivings about I Robot, dragging Isaac Asimov into the hype.
