1.Predict the number of unpaired valence electrons in the complex ion [Cr(CN)6]4- and draw out its d-orbital energy level diagram (CN- is a strongly interacting ligand). The wavelength of maximum absorption in the absorption spectrum of the complex ion is 320 nm. Calculate the d-orbital splitting, ?o, in kJ mol-1.
