Predators

I realy hope I like it. I love the original movie with a passion bordering on obsession. God Knows how many times i've seen it over the years. But the Danny Glover sequel was absolute pants.

I just got back from seeing it. As a fan of the first two movies (the first one especially) i loved it! It was everything that a Predator movie should be. It has quite a few homages to the original movie without it seeming like a rip off or anything. The good reviews are well deserved. Finally a sequel this year that doesn't disappoint :D

The only negative thing i can think of is that the ending is a bit of a "is that it" moment where Adrian Brody says something like "now lets get off this planet"...which is something he's been doing for the past 106 minutes and is clearly a set up for a sequel. I'd be happy for another film, but only if they get off the planet ASAP and don't just re-run this film.

Also, i should point out that you should definitely ignore any reviews that say it's not gory, i'd say its on a par with the first one for violence. I've read at least one review that says it's "bloodless", which i can definitely call bullshit on.

I agree i didnt like the Danny Glover sequel as much,it was ok,seeing the predator in the city enviroment was interesting but thats about it,was Arnie ever approached for predator 2?anyone know, this new one looks really good though,i see one of the guys has the minigun like Blains, pretty cool.

ps predator is on film4 right now.

Well, I went to see this last night. Not too bad, but as another poster pointed out, it was hard to follow the dialogue at times.

Anyone else think the ending was a bit of a let down?

7/10 (because it's still better than the AVP nonsense)

Starts well but pretty much business as usual by the end. It would have been better had it come out as the first sequel 20 years ago but now the idea has been done to death and it has nothing much new to say.
The franchise is just a slasher flick in sci-fi clothing.
Over familiarity doesn't bode well for the new Alien prequels either.

I quite enjoyed it having gone in with pretty low expectations. Enjoyed the premise although there really weren't any surprises to be had other than the change in the scene from the trailer. I agree that the ending was little bit of a let-down but I guess it leaves it open to another film. Nice to see a modern action film that didn't rely too much on huge explosions and CGI. In fact the biggest explosion which was mainly CGI was absolutely terrible!

Well I saw the film earlier and TBH I did not like it,the dialogue and storyline were thin at best and there were to many lines and moments taken out of the 1st Predator film, like they had almost run out of ideas.I know the reviews have been somewaht positive but I for one prefered Predator 2 to this.
But thats just my opinion:p
And Laurence Fishburns role was too small,he should have been in a lot longer

Yes he was. Apparently he turned it down on the grounRAB that he felt that taking the Predator into the city was a bad idea (the Gary Busey role was originally intended for Arnie's Predator 1 character, Dutch). At one point he was going to co-star (according to Imdb anyway), but he decided to do Terminator 2 instead, i think he made the right choice!:p
