Lately, I've tried brainstorming a few minutes before taking practice timed essays, but my mind always draws blank. Maybe it's because in fourth grade, my teacher taught me the "trigger word technique" where you think of a word or subject and just write about it, non-stop, no matter how horrible your writing may seem. That's been working for me for a while, but it won't help me on the SAT.
I'm alright if I have to do multiple essays all at once. In the AP exams, I always take the longest on the first essay, and then the second two are a breeze.
