Do you think it is appropriate for pre-teenagers to be using Facebook on a regular basis?
My cousin just turned 10 a few weeks ago, and she seems to spend alot of time online.
I'm actually quite outraged right at this moment, because I just saw that she had posted some pictures. There are over 100 photos, all taken by herself, real posed pics with captions like 'I look cute!'
I did a bit of detective work and found that she has no privacy settings whatsoever. Any freak in the world can look at her wall and her pictures. There is even one photo of her and her friend wearing their school uniform, hanging out in a public park
I have mentioned to my Aunt on a number of occasions that I think my cousin is too young to be on Facebook and she should monitor her a bit more, but it has obviously fallen on deaf ears, because every time I am online my newsfeed is flooded with her activity.
Do you think I am overreacting, or do you agree with me that it is totally inappropriate for 10 year old children to be active participants on social networking sites?
Abigail - what's wrong with being addicted to playing sport? Hanging out with friends? Going to a movie?
It's sad that all you young kids spend so much time glued to a computer screen, filling your heads with crap.
My point exactly that majority of people who answer this question will be young teens/tweens... seriously, don't you all have anything better to do? Like go visit a friend in real life? Or have a chat on the phone?
