Pre-teen bedding dilemma! What are your thoughts?

Okay, my husband and I are at a crossroads as to we should do about our son's bed. He is now 12 years old and still has a car bed. I would like to purchase new bedding for him but, I also want to get him a new bed, one that he can keep for a while (even through college). The problem is, my husband paid a lot of money for the bed at the time, and doesnt want to see his investment go down the drain. That is certaintly understandable, but even though my son doesn't mind the bed now, I am thinking once he gets into the teen years, he might have a change of heart. My husband thinks we should just keep the bed forever, and not worry about getting a new one or new bedding. But I say its time for a change and a much needed transition from the kiddie phase to a more grown phase. What are your thoughts?

ya get the new bed, but be sure to buy him plastic sheets or possibly you could just use a tarp because he'll be havin them wet dreams real soon

wait till' hes a teen ask him confront it with your husband and then see where it goes from there

I agree that he'll want a new one soon. If it's worth money, sell it!
