(for weight loss/fat burn)? Currently im sitting at 200lbs and my goal is to lose 10-15lbs hopefully by the end of February. I was big on weight lifting for the past 2 years and so the eating part really took a big toll on my belly. Now i want to lose the belly and be more fit.
After about 2 weeks of elliptical training I decided to move on to the dreadmill (or treadmill as people like to call it).
As of now I am using the pre-set weight loss program which is
-35 minutes total
-Beginning 2 minutes is warmup (2mph)
-Then 4 minutes moderate walk/light jog (3mph for me)
-Then 4 minutes run (5.5mph for me)
-Then 4 minutes moderate walk/light jog (3mph)
-Then 4 minutes run (5.5mph at 3.0 incline)
-Then 4 minutes moderate walk/light jog (3mph 1.5 incline)
-Then 4 minutes run (5.5mph at 0 incline)
-Then 4 minutes moderate walk/light jog (3mph at 0 incline)
-Then 5 minutes cool down (2.5mph)
Ok i know i suck at running but this is the intended pre-set weight loss program for the treadmill and so i believe it will work. I lose only about 210-230 calories and so i cannot see exactly how that is a weight loss program. But im going to believe what the treadmill says.
Now I am wondering, is that a good weight loss program? Or should i do HIIT treadmill exercise?
For my HIIT i was thinking
-5 minute warmup walk (2mph)
-30 seconds work set (7-8mph)
-2 minute rest (3mph)
-Repeat for about 7 cycles
Would this be more effective than doing the 35 minute preset weight loss program?
