Pre-pointe exercises?

I'm entering my second year of dance, and will be looking for a pre-pointe class next season :)
Anyhow, I'd like to know any ankle-strengthening exercises to speed up the path to pointe. You know, things I can do while brushing my teeth, waiting for the computer to loard, waiting in line, on the bus, etc. I already do releves whenever I can. I heard that you need to be able to do a grand-plie - in first? - in center without wobbling to go en pointe. That seems awfully easy :/ I think they meant in fourth or fifth. And also you should be able to stand in releve retire position for any amount of time. I know pointe dancers can already do these, but if you can, does that mean you're ready for pointe? And some exercises please? =] Thanks for helping!
