Scientists use the following formula to estimate the age of dead organic material R = [1/10^12(e)]^-t/8223 where R denotes the ratio of carbon 14 to carbon 12 present at any time t (in years). If the ration of carbon 14 to carbon 12 in a fossil is R = 1/10^14 esitmate the age of the fossil to the nearest 1000 years.
