1. Which of the following is a root of the polynomial shown below?
f(x)=x^2+2x^2-x-2

A. 3
B. 0
C. 1
D. 2

2. Which of the following expresses the possible number of positive real solutions for the polynomial equation shown below?
5x^3+x^2-7x+28=0

A. Three or one
B. Two or zero
C. One
D. Zero

3. A polynomial has one root that equals 5 - 7i. Name one other root of this polynomial.

4. The value 3 is an upper bound for the zeros of the function shown below.
f(x)=-3x^3+20x^2-36x+16

True or False?

5. The value -2 is a lower bound for the zeros of the function shown below.
f(x)=4x^3-12x^2-x+15

True or False?

6. Express the polynomial as a product of linear factors.
f(x)=x^3-5x^2-18x+72

A. (x - 2)(x + 6)(x - 6)
B. (x - 4)(x + 3)(x + 2)
C. (x - 3)(x + 3)(x - 8)
D. (x - 3)(x + 4)(x - 6)

7. What is the sum of the roots of the polynomial shown below?
f(x)=x^3-8x^2-23x+30

1. to get the answer, factor the polynomial and set all the factors equal to 0. whichever answer you get that matches the multiple choice answer.. is the answer

2. whenever you have a third degree equation, there are going to be 3 solutions. they can all 3 be real solutions, or 1 can be real and 2 can be imaginary. however it cant be 2 real and one imaginary. this is because imaginary solutions alwaysss come in pairs because the conjugate of one imaginary solution is a solution by default.

3. as stated above, imaginary solutions come in pairs. the conjugate of 5 - 7i is 5 + 7i

4. idk

5. idk

6.just factor the equation and match it w/ the multiple choice

7.factor the equation, find each root and add them
