I am debating whether to get a Ducati 748/998 (00 - 02 plate) but also need it for commuting. Obviously things are a little more expensive with ducati's and me doing more miles for just commuting isn't going to help... but my main concern is the reliability. I have had various bikes in the past and the most problematic of them was a brand new Triumph daytona T595 where the aftermarket (dealer fitted) alarm kept draining the battery (the bike was lovely by the way).
