Thank you for bringing up this very important topic for discussion.
We probably need more than a multivitamin if we take a PPI. I found out that I was deficient in calcium and vitamin D3. Even though I am now off the darned PPI, I am still supplementing with calcium, magnesium, D3, fish oil and a B complex, in addition to the multivitamin.
Most studies are now concurring with the notion that long term PPI use interferes with the absorption of calcium and several important vitamins and nutrients.
