Power Commander 5 and Auto Tune Info

After reading many threads on this I called Fuel Moto and ordered my PCV, Vance and Hines Monster Ovals and SE AC. They beat the stealership by a little over $200.. and the PC V will come with a map already on it! Love this forum and learn so much from all the great members here. I will be installing all of this on my New 2010 Road King and will post some pics when Im done.

Before I get into my opinion about the K and N air kit....let me say up front that I have bought 4 power commanders from Jamie. I wouldn't have been back if I didn't get 1st rate service...and I have every single time.
Now comes the "but"...One of my purchases was a PCIII, rush slip ons, and a K and N air kit that I put on an 06 fatboy. I have to say here that I believe the SE air kit is better made than the K and N kit. Specifically the mount the air filter screws thread into. The SE kit is bossed out to be much beefier than the 3 aluminum standoffs that came with the K and N kit. That's not anybody's "fault" just a fact (IMO). The K and N kit I installed was so badly made...you could almost see the badly made threads through the sides of the aluminum stand off pins. I even had to clean one of them up with a tap to get it to work. Still, I started buying off this guy before he became a sponsor on here, and would recommend him to anyone. I just don't recommend the K and N kit.

P.S. I'm lovin the PCV on my 09 Ultra!!!

I'll second that notion. I've had one PCIII and a PCV, later adding Auto-Tune. I've dealt with hundreds of mail-order vendors over the decades from computers to photography gear to vehicle parts, and Fuel Moto's customer service is second to none.

I agree with you here too. I bought the K&N 3

try the Arlen Ness big sucker, I put one on my 09 Ultra w/ ABS etc. less than 60 bucks at heritagecycleworks in Brockville, Wayne is a great wealth of knowledge and his prices are awesome.

Hello all,
I have read this entire thread. GREAT information, I have learned even more about how to use my PCV with Auto Tune. I have had the PCV & AT on my bike (09 Sportster 1200C) since Feb. I immediately noticed improvements in the smoothness and power from my bike. I have played around some with the AFR tables to get better fuel mileage, and have had some success. After reading this thread I now like the idea of having different maps available to meet the specific needs of the Bike in any riding scenario.
Coincidentally I just purchased the LCD-200. I got it installed this week. Since no one has really reported on it, I thought I would give some information.
My initial impression is very positive. I hooked right up with no real issues. At first it was not working properly. The only thing I could really get to read was Engine RPM and Temp. Speed, Throttle Position, Gear would not calibrate. I called Dynojet. The technician was VERY intent on getting everything working properly. We established a remote desktop session and he took control of my PC and made all the necessary changes. Long story short, he upgraded the PCV Desktop software, and then upgraded my PCV firmware. After that we found one of the wires from the AT unit to the 02 sensor was loose. I fixed that and all was working GREAT. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Anyway, I have setup my LCD to display Engine RPM and speedometer. Not really needed since I have a Speedo and Tach on my bike. But, you have 2 Analog Gauges available, may as well use them. Then I also have Gear displayed. This is great, just a glance confirms what gear I am in. In addition I have Eng. Temp, Battery Voltage, Fuel adjust 1, and Throttle position set to display. I think all these are very handy to know instantaneously.
Unfortunately, AFR is not available to display. I think you have to have the Wide band 2 unit to get AFR. However, the Fuel Adjust is a good indication of how you are tracking your AFR tables.
Perhaps the most useful feature is the Data Logging capability. I have mine set to log all channels from the PCV and the Harley J1850 diagnostic port. This is a wealth of information you can use to analyze the performance of your setup. You can convert the LCD-200 file to an Excel spreadsheet for viewing. I have attached an example.
Another GREAT ADVANTAGE to the LCD-200 is the ability to store multiple maps on the memory card in the unit. You can then download any map to the PCV on the fly and still have Auto Tune enabled.
This is just a brief review of the LCD-200. If you have questions, post them and I will try to answer.

Rasaine, I've had the LCD-200 installed for several months, but I'm not as high on it as you are. First, I also cannot get AFR's to display, instead showing 13.7 or 17.? at all times. The unit won't accept any of my SD cards, which all work in my computer, so I haven't been able to data-log. The card door spring doesn't work so the door flops around most of the time. On top of all that, the unit frequently zeroes or dashes out for short periods, always recovering in time. It is also almost invisible in daylight.

I sent it to DJ for repair but they didn't fix anything, not even the broken card door. Jamie at Fuel Moto told me to wait a while before sending it to them again since it was a new unit and they needed time to figure out its glitches. He's also had trouble with it working on Harleys but claims it works fine on other brands.

All this said I'm primarily using it as a CHT, fuel adj., and TP gauge--and that makes it worth maybe half its price. I'll contact them soon for another try at fixing it, but at this time I can't recommend it to anyone and don't think it is ready for prime-time. It's certainly not worth its $300 price.

Wow, iclick. I sure hope I don't have the problems with mine that you have had. In all honesty I purchased the LCD-200 before I found and read this thread. I'm sure you know that a 1 GIG SD card is the largest size you can put into the unit. My SanDisk Ultra 1 gig card went right in and immediately formatted. NO problems so far.
I am disappointed that the AFR does not display. When you try to select the digital readings from the PCV list, AFR is not listed. I hope Dynojet will fix this in a new firmware release. I sure am going to push them for it.
I'm REALLY surprised about DJ not fixing your problems, especially with the GREAT customer service responses I have seen reported here. Surely if you send it in again they will properly address your issues.
True, the display is not real bright, but so far I have been able to see it fine, even in the bright sunlight (not directly beating down on it though). The Tach and Speedo are about useless because they are so small, but like I said, I have full size ones anyway. The other stuff I can read; and find very useful, especially the Gear position, Engine Temp, Battery Voltage, and % Throttle Position. I'll use the throttle position to help me know what areas to lean out in my AFR tables for better cruise economy. If I decide to play with timing, the KNOCK reading will be of great benefit there.
All things considered so far I am pleased, but not elated. If I keep getting the reporting and monitoring I have so far, I will consider it a worth while purchase. If I start having the problems you are I will definitely be an UNHAPPY customer.
Oh, by the way, mine was $233 from Phat Performance, free shipping, and no tax.
Soon I am going to load two or three maps and try switching on the fly. If this works it will make me a little more pleased.
Stay tuned

I'm in need of the dimensions for the Bosch LSU 4.2 sensor that are used with the Dynojet Wide Band Commanders and the Auto-tune systems.
I'm looking for the mounted, exposed part length of the sensor from exhaust pipe to where the cable attaches (trying to get a feel for how/where I can mount it).
I've searched the forums and the 'net, but can't seem to find any dimensions for the sensor.

Anybody have the numbers?

at the tailpipe. It's funny but my PCV doesn't even use the O2 sensors. Does some of the add-on stuff from Dynojet plug into the sensors?
