Power Commander 5 and Auto Tune Info

I tried running the O2 harness down and under like OEM at first. With the AT modules on top of the ECM/battery I couldn't get quite enough slack to reach the modules routing it that way. I would love to see all the different ways people have installed the PCV/AT. I'm guessing there have been quite a few creative installations.

Wow, now I sympathize! Here are two angles on mine where you can see that I have a straight shot from the left side of the bike. I wonder why the change from '07 to '08, unless HD is trying to discourage owners messing with the sensors.

I can only assume they wanted to make it harder to remove to discourage people from messing with the emissions equipment.

Yes, it's a great tuner. What I want now is the ability to tap in on the J1850 port like the PCV does, plug it into a small LED gauge, and be able to get head temp readings while I ride. The LCD display will be available in the future, but it's an ungainly device that isn't waterproof and is difficult to read in the daylight. I have no idea where I would put it on this SG. When I had the PCIII I borrowed an LCD display and velcroed it to the rear of the tank, but left it on only long enough to get some readings from it.

Iclick, I think the different location of the rear cylinder O2 sensor and 2" Rush mufflers is what was causing me all the issues with an unstable AFR at idle as well. Since changing out the baffles that problem went away and the realtime AFR displayed on the computer is as stable as the front cylinder.

Hey guys I wanted to give you an update. I talked to Jamie last week and he gave me a new map to try. The new map was really rich, and I got 30 MPG on the first tank and then it went up to about 36mpg. Not to bad, but the bike still wasn't running, as well as I thought it could. So, I went back to the instructions again... I can't believe it, but I missed the AT1 and AT 2 step. And of course with a 50% chance of getting it right, I didn't. Rewired tonight and will monitor it over the next few rides. If you have an auto tune, as ICLICK told me, you can do this wrong. Recheck the wiring. If you have auto tune and are having decel pop, as I had, you may want to make sure you have AT1 to cylinder 1 and AT2 to cyllinder 2.

Now, lets look at those trim values!

Anyone know if someone at Sturgis will be setting up to sell and install the PCv with a retrofit for a 08 SG? I already e-mailed Jamie and Fuelmoto will not be there.

have you considered adding a day to your trip to drive to Jamies shop? You can have him install the PCV and fine tune it.

I will also tell you, that when I installed mine I made about every mistake that can be made. If I didn't have FUEL MOTO to call, I would have been out the money and the PCV sitting on the shelf. I recommend that you buy the PCV from Fuel moto, Jamie and Keith are great on the phone, new maps and an experienced sounding board. The support from FuelMoto is worth at least a $100 diff on the costs.

Good news. I really had to pay attention and double check that the AT modules were connected correctly. That is one reason that I mentioned in the earlier post that it could be connected incorrectly.
