Potty training in 1-3 days??? Are the books worth it? Which method is the best?

I've seen several now, which is the real one? Also the reviews are all over the board, what is the method? Is it basically using panties, staying in for 3 days and putting them on the potty every 30 min???

Any help would be great
Yes well, lets assume the child is READY, let's go from there
