Post operation dreams

I had a successful THR but upon discharge from hosp suffered continuous nightmares. I am scared i might dislocate should i jump out of bed. Could it be post Op depression? Should i seek help. And how long does it last?

You're not alone. I had an ulnar nerve transposition and had night mares for a long time. I was also in alot of pain, thus I wasn't sleeping well. I did eventuraly get over them.

Also, I recently had major surgery and i made the anesthesiologist, along with the surgery team, aware of my previous nightmares, and luckily, I have not had any.

Have you checked with your primary care doctor? He/She might be able to help.

If you face serious disorders, you may consult a doctor.

I don't like too much medicines, so I will suggest you to get an alternative therapy to relax or give balance to the mental health.

Meditation is a good healer for problems like depression, anxiety, tension, loss of sleep and more.

Reiki is also a good healer which require to get help of a reiki master but allow you to get healthy after a few sessions.

Jogging, walking or visiting natural beauty places, spending time with children, elders and serving others in your spare time will also give you mental relief and satisfaction.

If you are still on pain meds, that is probably the cause. Lortab does that to me.
