For my 75 year old dad - had kidney successfully removed in May 2010. Shortly after, about a month, he started experiencing excruciating back pain while sitting for more than 10 minutes. Have been to 5 doctors, had MRI's, cat scans, blood tests, etc., and is currently in Pain Intervention sessions where they block the area with epidural and inject steroiRAB. That works for a day, and the pain returns just as strong. We're tired of the run around, and we believe the scar tissue from the two surgeries (first one was partial nephrectomy on same kidney 11 months prior) where they reopened incision has caused the scar tissue to grow around nerve endings. Anyone else experienced this and if so, how long did it take for the pain to go away and what steps were taken. I hate to see him in such pain. Thank you. -his daughter, Kat
