Injury '97
Lam/disk L5/S1 '98 three months later (17mm herniated disk).
Electrical pain worsens after surgery.
Double-fusion '99 L%/S1 and L4/5--now don't believe was needed. No herniations.
Pain does improve, but cervical pain becomes an issues.
Cervical double-fusion 2000. Learn recently only 1-2mm bulge and some stenosis. Surgeon didn't believe in alternative care. Don't seem right to me
Left me with massive cervigenical headaches still suffering. On fentanyl for years.
Another experimenal cervical surgery in 2001. No biggie. Out-patient deal. Didn't resolve anything.
Lurabar surgery to remove hardware in late 2001. Once inside, ortho reports not all the way fused, has to performed repair to fusion. Not expecting that. MRIs always said "fused."
Couple years of back feeling better. Electrical pain not as bad. Then hit with strange lossing of feeling in legs and arms at same time--aroung 04/05.
Now, my feet burn, the nerves throughtout legs intense. Electrical pain in private area. Etc.
I figure scar tissue. But really, it can make pain that bad? So much worse than even the original injury and pain after surgeries? What is that all about?
I cross my legs, the terrible pins and needles attack feet all ready burning. Then begin to loss feeling in them. Which, if I don't do anything about it, then I start lossing use of legs.
Happens in arms and hanRAB too. Not to the degree of legs and feet though.
Plus, the nerve pain down my ankles, which is began in 06, is so severe now, mostly made worse by moving around, that to walk is so painful.
I used to walk a lot in attempt to strengthing muscles, etc. Now what?
I hear the term "failed back surgery" and wonder, why have had it done at all then? Can't go back and do it differently, but sure wish there was something to stop this pain.
Any thoughts?
