possibly buying 1979 pontiac trans am?

i was looking at a 1979 trans am and i need some advice if i should buy it or not. the car has a 403 ci 6.6 liter engine, but i dont know how many miles on engine or car. the car is primered and has not been inspected in a while. the car runs but i dont know how well because i havent seen it yet. the person selling it is asking $2000 for it. Should i buy it?
 
NO, unless you are prepared to spend the cars amount in new parts, repairs or little fixes.

take it for a test drive. test EVERY little thing possible. even down to little switches. and lights, because that could indicate electrical problems.

I love old muscle cars. *IF* i were in your position i would do it hahaha

This car will be a money pit. The list of things that need fixed on this car now or in the near future is probably endless.

Plus a 79 Trans Am is a dog of a car. Late 70's early 80s GM cars were crap.
