Possible to upgrade phones early?

I have a friend who's 22 months, or contract...whatever deadline to upgrade phones is this feb. Her father's phone broke so she went with him to see about picking up a new phone. The associate told them that the primary line and one secondary line could upgrade now if they wished so she ended up getting her new phone 3 months early!

IS this possible for everyone or did she run into a nice worker? Is it even possible to get this that early? My time is up in march but its also mid Jan so it would be the same time difference as her situtation. Thanks for any help!

Only the primary line (billed at 59.99 or higher per month) is eligible for Verizon's early (now called annual) upgrade. You need to remember that each line has a separate contract term and therefore, in many cases, different upgrade eligibility dates. For example, all 4 lines on my Family Share have different upgrade dates.

Paul is right again! :) Just wanted to add that you must have been on the $59.99 or higher plan for 3 months or more to qualify for an early upgrade; also, you forfeit your New Every Two credit when doing an early upgrade and will not get any credit towards a new phone however will get it at the two year contract promotional pricing. You may also have to pay a $20 early upgrade processing fee dependent upon your rate plan.

I have one year left before I can upgrade. I am not satisified with the balckberry and want to upgrade to the Droid incredible. I was told I have to wait until next August of 2011. I was told I could add a line for 40.00 per month. I was told I can not transfer my plan to a new phone. This seems restrictive and unnecessary. I am willing to pay for a new phone but don't want another line. Is there a way to get past this process and have the phone I want. Or do I have to wait until next yea?
