possibility of blood being mixed, worth following up?

Recently a friend of mine smashed a glass and then self-harmed with one of the shards, cutting at her leg very rapidly and slicing it very badly all in about two seconds - I immediately tried to wrestle the glass off her and cut my own fingers in the process, I have two very thin cuts that are about a centimetre long each and were probably several millimetres deep.

My concern now in hindsight is that I may have her blood in my system, and want to know if it's worth going through booking an appointment, going to see a doctor, being told to come back in two weeks to see if symptoms develop, waiting around for ages, etc...

I'm not sure at all that her blood did mix with mine (I can't remember which part of the glass my fingers closed around), and even if it did then it would only be the tiniest of drops. I washed my hands immediately after. I think it's extremely unlikely that this girl has AIDS, she is a drug user, but I highly doubt heroin (therefore it's unlikely she has used needles...?), and I know that she has had STIs in the past but has been cured of them.

Also, a somewhat grizzly detail: I was seeing a girl (we've kind of broken up now) and had sex with her the day after this incident, stupidly I forgot my fingers had been cut and involved them in the process, obviously they weren't still bleeding at all but they were still a bit raw and not scabbed over, is there any chance I could have caught something off her? I have no reason to suspect her of having anything, just being very cautious.

If she shares needles for any kind of drug use (several kinds of recreational drugs, not just heroin, are taken by needles), then she is at high risk of blood borne diseases like hepatitis B and C and HIV infection. You may be at risk to any such diseases that she has, due to the blood and sexual contact.

If that concerns you, get tested. Some of the blood borne diseases do not show symptoms until much later.

I suggest you wait a few weeks-Then get tested.By then,they can detect viral invasion. This friend of yours needs help ASAP. She is a danger to herself,and it willnot get better without intervention. Get her to a hospital when self-mutilating takes place. Let us know how things are going.Verbal threats of suicide would warrant an ER visit. She does not have to consent.
