Portland, OR - EVDO Launched

I must have missed the bus... I just *228'd my XV6700 and I'm still sitting at 1X. I'm near the Clackamas Town Center. Maybe I'll try it again when I go downtown tomorrow.
 
Do you have roaming on your account?

You might have the HDR password issue similar to what I have. I'm not familiar with XV6700 programming.
 
Probably not for a while. Cricket Portland is a little different than everywhere else. Right now Brew and WAP will go over the EVDO network. They aren't even advertising that the EVDO is turned on.

Currently I'm trying to figure out why WAP on the Q keeps getting forced down to 1X speeRAB.

Probably a registry key.

Ummmm.... What do you mean by the HDR password issue? I am quite familiar with programming my phone so if you could perhaps give me a bit of an explanation on what you had to do then I can probably figure it out for my phones.
 
Well, Nashville and Albuquerque are test markets right now for the aircarRAB, so EVDO is up there.

I could see Phoenix being up for testing.

From what I have heard Portland's launch was a "commercial" launch meaning it's up and will be staying up.
 
i just got my new 755p flashed over to cricket. I got the internet working with the help of this post: Here .

I then *228 and downloaded the update. But, no EVDO. Any advice?
 
I am in the Portland market and just went to the local Cricket rep and he informed me that EVDO kicked in yesterday and dialed *228 on my phone (PPC-6700). I am in the Hillsboro area (west of Portland) and it's still showing "1X". The sales guy (who was rather impressed with my phone) did not know why it was still in "1X", but I rushed to this forum to get info. Seems I am not alone. Would manually loading a PRL fair better? BTW: I have the 50$ account.

portland is in joint venture land... they don't get roaming plans but they get evdo?!?! I HATE YOU PORTLAND!!!! no i'm really just jealous, and a little puzzled.
 
Sinoloco: My phone does have access to the 1X/Hybrid/EVDO from the phone settings, part of the custom ROM I loaded. Most people would need to go to ##PST, my bad. Sarcasm noted.

I read somewhere that Denver has EVDO, but I cannot confirm. Anybody? I cannot auto-update my prl, so I would need to download one.

If/when EVDO comes to Denver, I will be able to sleep again!
