Porting number from o2 to vodafone?

Hi

Im on o2 pay monthly at the minute , and iv pre ordered the Nokia n8 on Vodafone , i have got my PAC from o2 and put it in when i was ordering my Vodafone contract from Nokia. All i need to know is

Will my o2 number be disconnected as soon as Vodafone put the PAC through , or will the o2 number be disonnected once the number is on Vodafone?
