Poor Network Coverage On Samsung Tocco Lite From T-Mobile Store?

hi i bought a samsung tocco lite from a t-mobile store in Nottingham, England and ever since have had problems with the network coverage. I personally thought that maybe it was T-Mobile's coverage so i decided to get my phone unlocked and go onto O2. The problem still persists but it isn't as bad, it just seems my phone has really poor recpetion can somebody help
