Ponyo on a Phone

So during last night's Glee, there was an iPhone commercial I hadn't seen before. One of the apps they showed off was a movie tickets app. The movie they displayed the page for? Ponyo! Kind of weird since Ponyo's barely playing in any theaters currently (though I could imagine it reentering theaters after the Oscar noms and before the DVD release). Cool to see Apple, likely due to Steve Jobs' connection with John Lasseter, showing some support for the movie, though.

Yep, my sister noticed that a few weeks ago when the ad aired during Animation Domination.

Pretty cool to see any anime, even for a split-second, advertised in a nationally-run ad.

But yeah, this commercial should've played in August, the month where it came out.

Awesome! Just seeing Ponyo on national television is great!

I wonder if Lasseter some how harassed Jobs on that or something, though Jobs is a pretty huge Japanophile himself.
