Hello everyone,
I am having some problems with my Grand Prix. Its a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1. I have noticed a slight shudder when accelerating from a dead stop under light to moderate acceleration. I have also notice when at a stop light/stop Sign I notice a pulse when I let off the brake. The RPMs do not change at all during the pulsing. And actually just the other day I noticed that when I was at a stop light, I let off the brake and hit the gas, and the transmission I believe slipped for a split second at takeoff. I personally have replaced the IAC valve, the TPS, Plugs, wires, fuel filter and air filter. I have taken it to a mechanic and he has hooked my car up to the computer and did not get any errors. I told him the problem and he really did not have a solution. He said it could be a bunch of things. I have done my research to try and figure out what is going on with my car. I found that it could be the torque converter which causes the pulsing, or bad motor mounts causing the pulsing which I have noticed that my motor moves more than it should. For the shudder that I get I found that it could be a bad TPCS in the valve body of the transmission causing loss of line pressure or the secondary clutch is going bad. Is there a way to check of you have a bad TPCS? is there a way to check if you have a bad torque converter? If you have any ideas on what might be causing these issues with my car I am all ears. Thanks!
Also at idle with the car in park, the engine will want to shake or kind of bounce like its loose and cause the car to shake a bit. It is not misfiring.
I have tried the incline thing already, and the car does not move it stays in the same spot. But I still get the pulsing.
