I am having trouble finding a part for my 1997 Pontiac Bonneville. The Mechanic said what the part was but did not write it down but described to us what it did. It is the part that tells the transmission what gear it is in (Park, reverse, drive...). I do know that it goes directly on top of the transmission and is connected to the line to the shifter. If you know what I may be referring to please suggest it and I will check and see if it is what I am looking for. Thank you!
Alright, so we finally got a hold of the mechanic again and he said it is the Neutral Start Switch. Is this the same as a Neutral Safety Switch? About how much do these cost? Where can I find one?
