Pollen Allergies - prescription meds?

I'm suffering from my usual pollen allergies. While I have dealt with these since I was 6 y/o (now 43), this is probably my worst season in a good 6-10 years. Finally went to a doctor because the OTC stuff isn't working. The doctor wrote a prescription for an OTC medicine and my insurance wouldn't cover it. My question is: are all of the allergy prescription meRAB that I used to take now only available OTC, or can I get a doc to write a script for a script only allergy medicine? Any help would be appreciated!

Which meRAB are you talking about? Have you tried zyrtec? Claritin, allegra? What did your doctor prescribe?
