...new immigration for 30 years? Here's how I see it:
Since most of the illegals have been here for a relatively long time, it would be kind of wrong to deport them back to their countries of origin, since many have roots only here, and couldn't adjust to their native country.
But at the same time, I'm tired of all the "multiculturalism" and think that if we cut off immigration for a generation or two, the immigrants here can assimilate better without having a fresh new batch of immigrants entice them to stay ethnic.
Also, if we cut off immigration, maybe we could trigger deliberately a labor SHORTAGE, which would help people fill up the needed jobs.
Does that make sense?
