I just heard a 12 second ABC news bite on the radio, that the US is trying (once again) to sell us on the dollar coins. They have a longer life, are "nicer" to the environment, are recyclable, etc. Yet it seems this is attempted repeatedly, with mostly yawns and sighs by the general population. We like to fold our money, I suppose.

I heard they are going to try to really push this in four specific regions (I don't remember which areas, I think they said Portland??? If you know where, feel free to share) and if it is deemed successful, they will push it in other markets.

Opinions welcome!

I prefer one dollar paper bills. The problam with one dollar coins is that you can get them mixed up with quaters.

They did this in the 80's in the UK.

Made us feel poorer! More Change to jingle!

i don't use cash anymore unless i'm about to wash clothes. and even then i would hate to get dollar coins mixed up with quarters
