poll on infertility - debate between boyfriend and i?

okay so somehow my boyfriend and i got on the topic of infertility and we got to talking about it and he said it would be totally understandable if someone left theyre significant other (even if they were married) if they found out that their wife or hunsband could not have children
i, on the other hand think that that would be horrible and to be honest i was upset that he thought that way
neither of us are infertile (that we know of anyways,we havent been tested or anything) but we just randomly started talking about it
and i was just wondering if people would agree with me or him?
i just personally think its cold to just drop love or ditch a relationship/marriage all because of some medical problem that they cannot help..to me its liek saying your not good enough to be with unless you can produce a baby..that,i find to be rediculous..
but maybe not?..im an open minded person so..
what do you think?
 
I think it shows he wants kids and marriage would be a mean to that instead of wanting marriage and kids would be a part of that.
