Politically speaking, what does it mean to hike along the Appalachian Trail?

That's a good one.

The word "watergate" has become a valid dictionary term in politics.

Therefore, we should expect that at least from now on, when someone comments that a politician is off on the Appalachian Trail, it would be an accusation that we all understand.

maybe he didn't actually fabricate a sttory. Maybe it's Republican slang for "cheating on ones wife again..."
could Maria be a typo for Mario, hmmm...

It means that 0bama is a lying, self centered, tax imposing idiot.

If it had anything to do with cheating on ones wife, the Dems would have addopted it as their motto... Bill Clinton, John Edwards, John F. Kennedy, Elliot Spitzer

I don't know. Liberals "penetrate young women with cigars" and conservatives "hike the Appalachian trail".

I guess it's better than "hiking the hershey highway".
