I am trying to get a job as a police officer and will have to go through background checks. Before going through the check, the application asks about previous convictions, and they will also ask again in the oral panel interview. If I at one time had a conviction expunged and it no longer shows up on my regular record, will the police background check still be able to detect it? Can I answer "no" to the question on the application asking about previous convictions? Thanks.
