The Sun has it wrong. this was put out about 6 months back on Movie sites, its a remake in the lines of Starsky and Hutch and The Dukes of Hazzard.
It was announced that it was planned to Remake 1984 hit movie Police Academy. But using new actors and stars it was hoped original cast members would return in bit parts or cameos. Leslie Easterbrook = Callahan, Bubba Smith = Moses Hightower, Michael Winslow = Larvell Jones are the only actors so far to have said yes.

If that's 6 months old, maybe their plans have changed? The Sun's showbiz stuff is usually pretty reliable.

I take your point however the last time that database was updated was July 7th 2004 so there is a chance that things could have changed. Personally, I would be more tempted to go with a more recent reports than one posted over a year ago. A film's concept can change dramatically as it moves through the creative process.

I hate remakes of any film and there's not point to an 8th police academy..so either way I'll not be watching

Personally I think the first 2 were good(and the miami 5th one was good aswell) the others were sub standard !
