i play on a pokemon site tpmrpg.net and there are different pokemon.

Shiny
Sapphire
Ruby
Dark
etc
What is the deal with these different pokemon? A lot of people get excited about getting shiny pokemon and stuff and i don't understand why. I personally like the look of the normal pokemon. all the others just look odd and don't look so great to me.
