OK...hate to be the naysayer here, but has he indicated to you in any way that he is ready to hear those words (no matter how they are said)?
No matter how adorably or cute you make it, if he doesn't want to hear it, it will feel to him like you just put a plastic bag over his head and pulled it tight.
Over the years, things have changed in many ways in the relationships arena, but those words still sound like "how about a lifetime commitment" to guys--or so I have heard from male friends who were struggling in a relationship. One told me he found it the quickest way to put out the flame.
So, unless you two are already committed in this relationship, and have discussed where it's going, hold off.
If you are already securely committed, and just wanting to give him a reminder of how you are feeling, any of the suggestions you have received so far would work.
And here are a few more.
"I love thee more than meat loves salt." (From King Lear) (Also from Cap o' Rushes and other folk and fairy tales)
If you have a dog...
"I love you at least as much as I love my dog."
“I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.” --Roy Croft
“Love isn't finding a perfect person. It's seeing an imperfect person perfectly.” --Sam Keen
