Ode to People of 9/11
On September 9, 2001
Everything changed
The rumors of planes
Being hijacked were true
Out of the billions of places,
They chose The World Trade Center
People stared with awe
As the planes dived from the air like a vulture
The smoke and dust was blinding
People thought it was over
But they were wrong
Another plane collided
With the 2nd building
The plane was a missile
Exploding on contact
We hear the cry’s of innocent people
We see the balls of fire erupting
We scream at this horrific event
As the tower crumbles into pieces
Hundreds of civilians were trapped
Beneath rocks and boulders
People of all races came to help
It was a search of despair
Hoping they would find loved ones
Few did but the less fortunate didn’t
Their bright and promising light
Extinguished too soon
We celebrate and honor their memory
To the fallen people of 9/11
