Pocket DVD Wizard 4.5

I am new to PDA's and have purchased a Palm TX. I see that dvd.s can be compressed to watch on them, at least this program says so.

My question is this. Is this program any good and also will it ignore the copy protection on a dvd or would some program like anydvd have to be used with it?

Thanks for any help.

Try Fairuse Wizard (http://www.fairusewizard.com/lang_en/fairuse_wizard_dvd_divx_xvid_backup_tool_light_edition.html) It is a freeware program that will convert your DVD movie to .avi format. Then use TCMP (http://www.corecoded.com/) on the TX to play your converted movie. TCMP is also free. This set up is not affected by copy protection. Fairuse is flexible enough that you can pretty much set the file size to any thing you want. I've played around with it enough to realize that all I really need to do is set the size of the output .avi file to 200mb and the quality of the sound track to 96kbps. That outputs an .avi that is of decent enough quality for the small PDA screen. Move that file to an SD card to the directory of your choice. Open up TCMP and navigate to the directory and open the file. And you're ready to view.

I see where the Lite Edition is for free. Will that edition do everything I want, Just encode the movies?

I have a two gig card coming in the mail and will try it as soon as it arrives. Thanks for the help. It is appreciated

I just tried it and it worked great. I have not looked at the movie on the TX as I do not have the card yet but watching it on the computer impressed me. I compressed it to 256 meg and the quality was impressive when I watched it on my pc.

Now to find a map program for the TX

Thanks again for the help
