PLZ HELP MECHANICS!!! Where are the two white wires needed to bypass the VATS system?

I need the wires that I have to attach the resistor to. I've read instructions saying they are in an orange wire coming down from the steering column, but I can't find it. I found an orange wire, but I cut into it a bit and saw that it was just a regular wire. Where are these wires? Could they possibly be a different color or am I looking for the wrong ones? 1999 OLDSMOBILE DELTA 88
