my iphone 3gs not restored
Code:
2010-03-25 21:27:04.656 iTunes.exe[3304:10c8]: restore library built Jul

You're trying to restore 3.1.2 (7D11), if you don't have shsh grabbed on server then you're out of luck.

I have the same problem...

I have iPhone 3GS 32G, i try to restore in dfu mode with itunes 9.2, 9.1 and 9.0

The same result.. error 3194

same problem to me!i have iphone 3gs 32g 312..i wan;t to restore to 313 but not success!!same error 3194

try to uninstall itunes,
then after that clean your temp files (delete it)

download msicuu2.exe on microsoft website and try to clean the system with all apple product,
after that reboot system ...

then intall again the latest version of your itunes...

(you can see temp folder if you let all the hidden files shown on folder option)

if you are computer user i think everything is easy to do...

gudluck

i have try to do that
but it seems look like before
furthermore I also install my windows but its same error 3194
what happened by iTunes 9.2?????????????????????????????????//

Well I already explained sort of, although it wasn't very detailed because I am lazy. But looking at the link I posted and the second one that tariq_h posted it's pretty easy to figure out.

I did not have a .shsh from 3.1.2, I was on iOS 4 and successfully downgraded. You need to edit the hosts file, this directs itunes to cydia's server instead of apple's where they see the ipsw you are trying to load isn't signed and they reject it causing the error in question. Changing the hosts file fixes this.

Now I'm working on loading a custom iOS 4 according to this: Steps To Jailbreak iPod Touch 3G iOS 4 with Sn0wBreeze 1.7 | TheTechJournal.com

hey viper1227 i did exactly what you said and it did not work i still got error 3194. i dont understand please help.

Delete Host file in C:\Windows... and u can restore ur ifone 3G with 4.0 or 4.0.1!!! tested by me!

Ok I figured out how to do it from here, Caching Apple's Signature Server - Jay Freeman (saurik)

In notepad open C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
delete any line that has to do with apple and add this at the bottom:
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

Now hold the lock and home buttons for 10 sec (or until it powers down), let go of lock and just hold home until itune detects it needing a restore.

The screen should be black, NOT have the "connect to itunes" icon. This is DFU mode not recovery mode. From here shift-click and restore using the .ipsw you want.

But i want to downgrade from 4.0 to 3.1.3/3.1.2
Will deleting the host file let me do this

I think apple team tried to give a solution to this problem read these two guides:

Downgrade iOS 4 iPhone 3GS, 3G and iPod touch to iPhone 3.1.3 / 3.1.2[Steps] | TheTechJournal.com
