Hey guys... I've had 2 plecos for about a month now. Yes, I'll admit, I assumed they were bottom feeders and would have enough food to eat on the bottom. But I have 2 small koi like gold fish that keep the floor clean.
Aside from that, plecos don't really eat other fish droppings anyway.
I did some research and it turns out - aside from algae pellets, they eat all kinds of vegetables. So I bought a zucchini, then I stuck a stainless fork through a SLICE and sunk it into my aquarium...
The plecos are ignoring the zucchini. Anything I can put on/do the zucchini to make it more attractive?
Also I just added 3 new male platy to my tank (joining my 3 females platy).
It's a 90 gallon tank, I don't think they'd have that much effect on the plecos, would they?
My plecos are only 3" long and I'm looking forward to properly feeding them in the future. All help is welcome.
