I KNOW -- WRONG SECTION..
I had to write it for my English class and it has to be about what makes the modern teen happy. I write poems all the time but this one was SO freaking hard for me to write, so I don't think it turned out too good.. But PLEASE help me, and give me suggestions on how to make it better!??!!?
What makes someone happy?
The important things do;
The things that matter
The joys that make you smile
The things you hold closest to your heart
The things that will never go away
When everything else will.
Family are the people we can’t stand
But could never live without
The people that drive you insane
But still love, day in and day out.
Friends are the family you choose
They are people whom you have found
The ones you feel comfortable with
And can always be your true self around
Music; the great way to escape from reality
Making you feel you are not alone
Music doesn’t judge and never will
When you feel as though you are on our own
Love; that four letter word that is so conflicting
But the greatest emotion one can ever feel
It makes a person feel worthy
Love is an experience so extraordinarily surreal.
Money; what every person wants more of
What can be gone so fast
Money; the sound of it just makes us elated
Unfortunately, money doesn’t last.
Shelter; a place to call home
A sanctuary; where you feel secure
A place that’ll be there at all times
When you feel hopeless and unsure.
Learning; stepping out of that comfort zone
Making one feel out of place
Seeing there’s more out there in the world
Ignorance is a definite disgrace.
Health; without it, you’d have nothing
Life would come to a halt
Being healthy -- physically and mentally
Well, it’s the greatest gift of all.
So what makes someone’s life complete?
The answer varies with every soul
Material things do not always matter
Being truly happy is the ultimate goal.
