My coaches told us this riddle and it's driving me crazy PLEASE SOLVE IT!!!!

One penguin said to the other, in the north pole, where is your type righter?
 
you coaches are drunk, the fact that there are 2 penguins in the north pole talking about typewriters kinda throws the logic away that penguins are not in the north pole, and that penguins can not talk or not use a typewriter. i think Aarons answer makes the most sence
 
don't they live in the south pole? ...now you got me thinking... i don't have a clue, but i would like to find out the answer when you do find one..
 
Basically avon has given the answer but here is it more clearly

where is your "type" (like breed of penguin) righter (righter being his name) so it would be south pole or some where other penguins are
