im glad to hear of the sensitivity to fluorescent lights! That is honestly one of my most agonizing symptoms. Because its lasts a few days. I know its prob. headache related from the anxiety. But its really awful! I thought I was the only one who experienced that! Its called Photophobia, which is common... I even went to an retina specialist and they said its nothing to worry about but can be very agonizing.

I also get nurab fingers during a panic attack. And feel like I have to throw up immediately. And everything seems completely dream like or not real... like im in a sound proof bubble looking at the world and all I am hearing is my heartbeat.

Panic attacks are terrible!

Mine is trouble reading
WorRAB seem fuuny when I talk
Pupils dialte huge or different sizes- This really freaks me out
Body feels stiff
Unbalanced- feels like I need to hold on to something
ears pop
Bright lights and noise kill me

I would love to hear other symptoms. It makes me feel better. I get the not usual, racing heart, sob etc...symptoms and I hate that I always read that. I get weird sensations. Hope to hear from all of you.

Smells get to me. Even if I *think* I am fine, the smell of gasoline can trigger an attack for me. Or any chemical type smell.

I'm on xanax right now very low dose 3 times per day. And yes, xanax can cause that feeling. But, it does take away the feeling of needing to run for help.lol I also get SOB every now and then.

Hey kw123... I know how you feel and I sympathize with you. I will list some strange symptoms that I get when I have anxiety.

~ Dilated pupils sometimes, or where they get bigger then smaller off and on
~ Slower beating heart or very fast beating heart
~ Feeling dizzy or off balance
~ Trouble concentrating or understanding things
~ Feel like I slur my speech when talking or don't make sense
~ Can't get deep breaths and keep yawning which makes it worse
~ Feeling like I'm on a boat and the floor is moving up and down
~ When I look at things it doesn't seem real

I can have these symptoms even when I'm not having a full blown attack, which can be pretty uncomfortable.

I wish you the best of luck :-)

I also get these feelings without attacks. It is very worrisome. I hate feeling fine and then get the weird symptoms out of no where. I swear that is was leaRAB me into full blown panic.I just started Deplin. Check it out. It seems to be good. I will let you know how it works. Do your pupils really go crazy? this is the thing that freaks me the worst. My pupils gget huge, pulsate, and one gets bigger than the other. Also the dizziness freaks me out. I can handle the heart issues and shot of breath. I know that is anxiety, but the weird symptoms you do not hear alot about really get me.

I know EXACTLY what you mean about your pupils getting really big and pulsating!! Mine have done that too. Not every time, but they have definitely done it. Just yesterday actually. The first time it happened was last October and I freaked out, I was so scared. I was actually on my way to a birthday party with my son and I had to call and make up an excuse on why we couldn't come last minute. I was so erabarrassed, but it had never happened to me before. I also have floaters in my eyes, mainly the right eye, almost all the time anymore. I would've never believed that anxiety can do all of this to you if it wasn't actually happening to me. Some of the symptoms can be so incredibly scary. I've been having a pretty rough time the past few weeks with my anxiety and I just worry constantly. I've had so many tests that come back normal and I'm still so terrified that something is wrong with me or that something bad is going to happen.

The worst one I ever had was I could literally feel cold claws raking my chest and ribcage. My pupils dilated like I was on drugs. I thought I was dying.

The irony of it was it was a response to Zoloft that caused those symptoms with a panic attack. Apparently, when it comes to Zoloft, I'm in the .01%. :(

I'd had panic attacks before...which is why I was on Zoloft to begin with...but that attack happened 3 days after starting to take Zoloft. I became suicidal, agorophobic and had a complete nervous breakdown. I was 20 years old. This was before they knew that young people sometimes react badly to SSRI's.

Long term effects...I have a fear of taking any unknown medication. I really have to work up my courage to do it. I'm always afraid I'll have a reaction similar to that one.

I get the stffl neck, back and shoulders (which I have right now) and the only thing that will fix it is a hard therapeutic massage - it won't get better on it's own. I'm like a "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof", but not like in the movie - I am so jumpy that I scare other people because I am always physically jumping when I hear a sudden noise. I am especially vulnerable to loud speaking or yelling from men, or aggression (even if they aren't referring to me at all). That's because of my upbringing, which was terrible, and violent and at 42, boy am I sick of having that reaction for so long.

Huge problems sleeping when I am like this. Yesterday I gave my cat a smack because she scratched me in the face. I didn't cause her harm and she was straight back with me wanting cuddles. But I did feel out of control and that scared me even more. I will be telling my psychologist about it.

It's very windy in the coastal town I live in and there has been a gale blowing all night and into late morning with no sign of letting up. So the house, other people's houses, the huge trees in our street all make loud noises continually and make it even harder to sleep.

Hey PAUSA,

How have you been lately?

I think I know what you mean by what your saying above. When I was younger I used to get these strange feelings and even my sense of perception changes like everything seems small to me and I feel like the owrld is not real.

It's really hard to explain and it used to freak me out big time.

Can you elaborate more on what you mean and how you feel "When you look at things and it does not seem real"

Thanks:wave:

Me too. My anxiety and panic is at an all time high. I worry all day about my health and how I feel. Why is this happening to us? Hopefully one day we will have an answer.

I have been slowly gettin worse. Some days I feel like I will fall over. I get super dizzy. Do you ever get sensitive to sunlight or flourescents? I have floaters in only one eye too. I also when I have an attack one side of my body always feels the worst. Does this ever happen to you? How long have you had anxiety? Me 12 years and everytime I have an attack I still think, storke, brain tumor, MS, etc... Crazy...........

I didnt think mine was ever Anxiety and always had a hard time accepting it was anxiety. But my biggest problem was shortness of breath, or the inability to be satisfied with the normal breaths my body neeRAB. I was always sighing and taking that big breath in that normal people need and do without taking any notice.

I have been on prozac for 2 years and in a day to day situation it seemed to have helped, but in a situation which made me a bit more anxious it wouldnt work, i would still have the SOB attack, but maybe not quite so extreme.

Im trying to get off Prozac and have started to take one every other day now instead of every day, but already i feel more SOB times, so i dont know what i will do, my Doc says there are better anxiety meRAB than Prozac and will try me on another one if i cant cope coming off Prozac. I hate this, i wanna be normal. :(

During a full blown panic attack

Racing heart normally as high as 130
Flushed feeling
Feeling like I'm about to die and need to get help fast

Anxeity-Sometimes most of these are daily for me. And they worsen around the time of my menses. I'm in perimeno.

Feeling off balance
Muscle aches and pain's mostly in my upperback and sternum
Feeling sick to my stomache
Increase in heart palps
Night sweats
Eyes feeling blurry

My weirdest symptoms:

  • Sensitivity to fluorescent lights (BIG TIME!). It's a huge trigger too.
  • Slurring worRAB occasionaly, feeling like no one can understand me.
  • Neck stiffness

Those are just my weirdest symptoms. I also get a lot of the usual symptoms: the racing pulse (up to 120-130 bpm), chest pain. Also, the stress goes straight to my gut and I will have a few days of constipation/diarrhea or both.

It's been a lot better since being treated for sleep apnea. Oh yeah, the Klonopin doesn't hurt either! ;)

My weird panic symptoms:

muscles will ache and hurt throughout my body
people will talk to me but their voices will just echo in my ears
I will at things and see blue spots
My vision will get blurry after a panic attack so I see double of everything

there is more but I can't think of them all.

Dontgetit- I too have the off balanced feeling and I hate it. I have it even if not in panic. all day for days. I weird vision too. I think it is med related. Are you on meRAB? great to hear you symptoms. I always feel alone.

I shake really bad and hold on to something for dear life lol... oh and i burp alot. the shaking is the worst for me. i have all the normal symptoms aswell but those are some of my odd ones.

-carrie

mine is definitely photosensitivity....I can't go into a grocery store when I am anxious or I will go nuts. Walmart is the worse! I also start fearing that someone will 'see' my panic attack, and think something is actually VERY wrong!
