New or Used is OK -- I don't mind looking on eBay, CL, etc. for specific used models.
Ideally I'd like to hear from those with personal experience, and not so much opinions from reading or hearsay.
1) Mid-range in price / imaging-quality / printing-speed -- not the most expensive, but definitely NOT the really cheap "disposable" models [like my HP 3820 that just broke after very light use]
2) Probably one of these brands: Canon, HP, Epson, Kodak
3) Looking for a good all-purpose, all-around, durable, reliable, long-lasting printer, good build quality
4) Will be used mainly for black and white text, only occasional photo- / art- / multimedia- use
5) Would like to either: a) Be able to easily refill the cartridges or tanks myself, or b) Be able to find readily-available, inexpensive 3rd-party/aftermarket-refilled cartridges, or c) both of the above
6) Not one of the mini- / portable- / travel- sized printers
