When there are antitrust laws, there is ongoing competition but never a winner. Obviously, the winner will be the company providing the best product with the best price, and antitrust laws are preventing the general population from consuming the best product with the best price. there are many useless things that companies do. instead of providing the best service, they spend their time by thinking about and working on how to compete with the other company. and this distracts them from making useful products. some may ask, "doesn't competition urge companies to make a better product?" no. it would be just a more glossy and visually attractive product, with a fancy name and advertisement. but not necessarily with better quality... if there would be just one company to provide the best services and products, there would be no need for useless things. companies wouldn't have to strategically postpone the release of a better product, to make more money, because they would be making all the money already so they wouldn't care about that. so what we would be using now would be apple's brainwave-controlled computer locked up in steve job's safe in the basement, instead of using it 10 years later when they make enough money on macbooks. the same goes with flying cars not being released because wheel-making companies dont let it, in fear of not being needed anymore...
