I was reading on FINAID that your parents are primarily responsible for your college education until the age of 24. My Mother agreed to pay for my tuition but hasnt made one payment since the begining of the semester. My account has now been sold to a collection agecy and is out the University's hands. I am not eligible for any students loans. I have no credit or any credit worthy cosigners.
My mom is a single parent. Its upsetting to be in this situation but she has done her best. Now I must take on the responsibity. I am not looking for pity or sympathy. I am just asking my peers for options as to how to go about settling this manner in a timely fashion.
I owe around $10000. I have a part time job, and am currenlty looking for another. Any ideas, suggestions, orginizations, articles etc. would be greatly appreciated.
