I am not sure what this problem could be, but I do suggest that you go to the nearest Auto Parts store and ask for a manual for the 2004 Jeep Liberty you own. In that manual there are hundreds of problem solving pages that will at least suggest what might be the misfiring on your engine. Spend the $20.00 for this book and you will never be sorry.
