Please help! My flash drive wont work?

i have two books that i am writing on it. i have another copy saved but not recently updated. I wrote about seven pages, and for anyone that writes knows how long that takes. Is there somewhere i can take it and have the information retrieved. Please I feel so sick just thinking all my work is gone. it says device not recognized, it was in the lap top all night and my step brother took it after i fell asleep, i think he may have hit the flash drive while it was in the usb port because the flash drive has notable damage on the end, the light comes on in the lap top but not our main computer. so it wont work on either of them, i am freaking out so bad, it is difficult to write and yesterday i was really focused I dont think i could duplicate the work so please if there is anyway that i can get it fixed i need to know
